Description: The MCP73831/2 devices are highly advanced linear charge management controllers for single-cell Li-Ion/Li-Polymer batteries, offering programmable charge current from 15 mA to 500 mA, four fixed voltage regulation options (4.20V, 4.35V, 4.40V, 4.50V), and thermal regulation, available in 8-Lead DFN or 5-Lead SOT-23 packages.

Thermal Information
An internal electrical connection exists between the Exposed Thermal Pad (EP) and the V SS pin. They must be connected to the same potential on the Printed Circuit Board (PCB).
For better thermal performance, it is recommended to add vias from the land area of EP to a copper layer on the other side of the PCB.
